1. Purpose
- The purpose of Life Groups is to foster spiritual growth and care through significant Christ-centered relationships.
- The Life Group is meant to be a person’s primary point of relational contact and spiritual care.
- The large Sunday Worship Celebration and small Life Group Cell meeting are the two most important ministries for each believer and should take priority in the scheduling of church events and individual activities.
- Each Life Group will have elements that help each believer fulfill his or her Christian purposes of Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Outreach and Service.
- The main discipleship element will be a discussion and deeper study of the prior Sunday’s message. Study questions will be provided in advance and, while appropriate for all, will be written at a level considered a moderate Bible Study for Christians.
- Size: Life groups will consist of 8-15 people.
- Meetings: Life Group sessions will be 10 weeks in length and will begin the Sunday prior to September 15, January 15, and April 15. Meetings may be on any day of the week. At the end of a ten week session group members will fill out a brief evaluation form including a question about their plans for the next session with the options of: 1) Continuing with the group. 2) Taking a break. 3) Trying a different group. Other church wide growth opportunities may be planned for the intervening weeks and the months of July and August.
