Calvary believes that putting our faith in action is important. We attempt to show it in our community all year long. We desire to be known as the church that helps people, as we believe that is what Jesus would want us to do. We also spread our faith around the world. On our most recent missions trip, 16 people went to Gales Point in Belize. Gales Point is a small village about an hour south of Belize City in a lagoon on the Caribbean Sea. It is a poor village filled with wonderful people. This was the third time Calvary sponsored a mission trip to Gales Point. This time we built a house for a lady named Millie. Her house had been destroyed in a hurricane. The house she was sharing with her family was 8'x10'! We painted a house for a man named Nigel. He was forced to move out of his old house quite suddenly, and he built his house using materials he could scavenge from around the village. We provided backpacks for all the children that go to the Gales Point school (K-6th grade, there is not a high school in Gales Point). We also finished a play structure at the school that had been started by a previous team. Our team also was able to fix the mission's van and one of the missionaries jeep. God provided so much for our trip, and we could see Him working everyday!
