Statement of Faith
- The Word of God: We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct (Matt. 5:18, 1 Cor. 2:13, 2 Tim. 3:16-17, 2 Pet. 1:20-22).
- The Trinity: We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, and worthy of precisely the same honor (Matt. 28:19, John 1:1-3, 10:30, Acts 5:3-4, 2 Cor. 13:14, Heb. 1:1-3).
- God the Father: We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that he concerns himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (Num. 14:8, Job 12:13, Isa. 57:15, Matt. 6:9-13, John 4:24, 14:6, James 1:17, 1 Tim. 1:17, Titus 3:4-6, 1 John 4:8-9, Rev. 4:8).
- God the Son: We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and is very God and very man. We believe in his virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, and perpetual intercession for believers. We believe in His personal, visible, and premillennial return to earth (Matt. 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-35, John 1:1-3,14, Acts 1:9-11, 2:22-24, Rom. 3:24-26, 1 Cor. 15:3-6, Eph. 1:7, 1 Thess. 4:15-17, Heb. 4:14, 7:26, 9:24, 12,24, I John 2: 1-2, 4:10, Rev 20:4).
- God the Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person whose ministry to the world is to glorify Jesus Christ, to convict mankind of sin, and to regenerate, indwell, guide, instruct, sanctify, intercede for, and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 14:16-17,26, 16:8-13, Acts 4:31, Rom. 8:26-27, 1 Cor. 12:3-7).
- Creation and the Fall of Man: We believe that God created man in His own image, that man fell thru sin, and therefore all men are sinners by nature and choice (Gen. 1:26-27,31, 2:16,17, Ps. 51:5, Rom. 3:23, Rom. 5:19, John 5:40, Acts 17:26).
- Salvation: We believe that salvation is God's gift to those who repent of their sins and trust Jesus Christ as their Savior. Justification is the righteousness of Christ given to the believer at the moment of faith. Sanctification is the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit whereby the believer becomes more like Christ in character (General: Isaiah 53:4,5, Matt. 4:17, John 3:16-18, Acts 17:30, Rom. 6:23, Eph. 2:4-5, 8-9, 1 John 4:10, 5:11-13. Justification: Acts 13:39, 2 Cor. 5:21, Rom. 3:21-26. Sanctification: Rom. 5:1-2, 8:1-2, 2 Cor. 3:18, Phil. 2:12-13, 1 Tim. 4:7-8, Heb. 2:18, 1 Pet. 2:2, 2 Pet. 1:5-8, 1 John 1:8-9).
- Baptism: We believe that every believer in Christ should be baptized by immersion in water, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit as a testimony of faith in the crucified, buried and risen Savior. Baptism is a symbol of our death to sin and resurrection to a new life (Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 2:38, 8:12, 10:47, 16:30-33, 18:8, 22:16, Rom. 6:1-10, Gal. 3:26-28, Col. 2:12).
- The Church: We believe that the local Christian church is a congregation of believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel; observing the ordinances of Baptism and Communion; governing themselves by Christ's laws; electing their own officers as set forth in the New Testament Scriptures, and striving together to fulfill Christ's great commission (Matt. 18:15-17, 28:19-20, Acts 6:1-6, 15:22, Rom 14:1, 1 Cor. 11:23-26).
- Security of the Believer: We believe that all who are truly born of the Spirit, will not utterly fall away and finally perish but will endure to the end for they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation (John 6:37-40, 8:31, 10:27-29, Rom. 8:28, Phil. 1:6, 2 Tim. 1:12, Heb. 13:5, 1 John 3:9, 4:4, 5:18, Jude 1:24-25).
- Eternity: We believe that all who become righteous through faith in Christ shall enter into the presence of the Lord at death and their bodies shall be raised in immortality and glory at the coming of Jesus Christ, that the unsaved or wicked shall be cast into the Lake of Fire where they shall suffer due punishment of their sins forever (Matt. 25:34-46, Luke 16:19-26, 23:43, II Cor. 5:8, II Thess. 1:7-9, Jude 1:6-7, Rev. 20:11-13).
